Does anyone know how and why the Greeks assigned certain Gods to different signs. I'm trying to avoid what the Romans said, since they copied just about everything from the Greeks, no? I'm curious to know how we made the jump from Gods to signs.
Also, if the Greeks genuinely believe that those Gods existed, is there any merit for us to follow the system? Or is it along the lines of Karl Jung who said something like the Gods representing different aspects of the human condition? If we follow Jung's idea, how does that change how we know the Greeks viewed astrology?
