Firmicus Maternus Translation Project

A translation project for the 4th century author Firmicus Maternus and his astrological work known as the Mathesis.
Source text: The primary critical edition of the Mathesis was published in two volumes by Kroll and Skutsch in 1897. Google Books has scanned volume 1 of the critical edition, which contains books 1 through 4 of the Mathesis in the original Latin:
Volume 2 of the critical edition is currently unavailable through Google Books, although the Internet Archive has it in several formats, including a plain text format that should be quite useful for importing into the wiki, presuming that there aren't any typos:
Step 1: Begin importing chapters of the Latin text into the wiki, probably by typing each line up individually.
- Joseph Leichter has provided us with an OCR version of volume 1 of the critical edition which will be very useful in importing the text into the wiki, although when importing the text from the OCR document each sentence will need to be proof read carefully along with the original critical edition in order to sure that there are no errors in the OCR document.
